I honestly think we have to start throwing spaghetti at the wall in NYC: One-person train ops on some subway lines to allow more service, new parallel bus service (w/private operators if needed), free + frequent shuttles on Metro-North + LIRR w/in city limits to relieve subways https://twitter.com/pharoahmensch/status/1245871253530935296

These may all be totally impractical. But I do wonder if the commuter rails have enough free crew that we could try using the Harlem Line to relieve pressure on Bronx subways.

(The reason I specify private operators above is because NYCT crews are maxed out, but it's just as worth trying [and just as crazy] to bring in operators from other public agencies.)
