I want to talk for a second about the utter lack of leadership and foresight at the very top levels of entertainment right now: have you heard a peep about acknowledging that there is actually *no way* we will return to business as usual. Think about it:
This is a virus for whom treatment and widely enough spread vaccine are a *long* way off. It can kill anyone, and the only was to reduce the # of ppl it kills is to limit social interaction. Once people start going back out, masks and probably gloves will have to be the norm.
How does that play out on a set? Do you think production insurance will cover the spread of COVID from a set? (Spoiler alert: it won’t!) So while crew may be able to take safety measures, what about cast? What about background talent?
How could you conceivably safely shoot a large scene in A League of Their Own? Or any period piece? How will actors weigh these risks? How will unions? If they don’t come out with some ideas soon, are they not just contributing to the problem?
Everyone is behaving as if we just have to wait it out and “see.” Which, if I remember from how Hollywood treated the internet, always plays out well. When the internet came, Hwood at first ignored it: “it’s just for the nerds!”
They they were like: “it’s bad for business!” Then: “let’s wait until it blows over.” Then, seven years too late: SUBSCRIPTION STREAMING IS THE ONLY MODEL.

They’re taking the same pace with respect to the business sea-change of Coronavirus only this time, PEOPLE WILL DIE.
If every other industry is facing down an 18-24 month remote work possibility, or having to implement safety measures for their employees NOW, why isn’t Hollywood?
You must be considering the scenarios in this matrix. And just know that if you choose the wrong “official future” - the one you think is coming that you’re organizing around, it may be LITERALLY a fatal mistake.
