Decided to rewatch pirates of the Caribbean and I’m only 3mins in and already I have a lot of THOUGHTS so silence this thread if you wanna avoid my yelling about it
I always forget that Gibbs was in the same ship as Elizabeth at the beginning. What’s the deal with that. What’s his story? Was that ever explained????
Timelines? i don't know them
Future Pirate King of my heart
DID WE EVER ADDRESSED THE FACT THAT NORRINGTON IS A FULLY GROWN ADULT MAN WHEN ELIZABETH IS A CHILD AND STILL SOMEHOW HE WANTED TO MARRY HER?? WTF BRUH?
THE PINNING IN THIS MOVIES WAS OFF THE CHARTS
GURL
i can feel teenage mee screaming
it's a crime that orlando bloom is physically capable of conjuring such level of puppy eyes
Character introduction done right.

What do we learn about Jack in the first two minutes he has of screen time?

1. Dramatic af for the sake of aesthetics
2. Scrapping by creatively
3. Has a sense of "honor"
4. Somehow the luckest mf ever, breezing through desperate situations
I love that one of the very first interactions we see between Jack and Elizabeth it's him literally jumping in to save her life. Not knowing who she is or what he could get from it. Just as an impulse. The kind of "heroic" impulse that he so often regrets throughout the story.
The birth of that push and pull between them lmfao
Can you say parallels?
I thoroughly enjoy the fact that from the beginning, even as they try to kill each other, there's a sense of mentorship from Jack, also telling Will to get a girl and musing about why he can't... it's an interesting dynamic setting that repeats for the rest of the movie
Ms. Elizabeth Swan when faced with pirates:
how long did this nerd spend reading about pirates???
now THIS is the way you introduce ghosts
bde: it was 2003 and we didn't know enough to appreciate her
