Kyoto announced that they will start school as planned on Wednesday but keep the 3 密s . My son's 3rd grade class has 33 kids and one teacher.
They request that when singing in music class, they maintain social distancing and not sing towards each other. They are 8 year-olds.

My nieces in Tokyo- in Suginami-ku- have school canceled, but every week on Friday they have to go to school for 30 minutes. Okay? So why? What? For health check-ups......

I worked in BOEs in Japan for a while. I would love to hear someone from the BOE explain how you can possibly do the 3密s in an elementary school. That is only something that politicians and bureaucrats could come up with.
