. @RepThomasMassie . @justinamash Regrettably, there is zero chance of my own “Representative” considering any idea which isn’t an expansion of the size & power of government. Consequently, I’m reaching out to you two.
I would like to propose a very different approach to not only the current crisis but also a solution for future crises. The current situation has been horrifically exacerbated by bureaucratic obstruction, which perpetuates, regardless of which administration is in power.
Additionally, due to shut downs of private businesses, people are in real peril of losing the roof over their heads & having no realistic prospect of knowing where their next meal is coming from. My proposal addresses both of these issues, and more.
First, I propose that undeveloped Federal lands be sold to pay for the entire proposal, including the paying off of the National Debt.
Second, I propose an Amendment to the Constitution to revoke the 16th Amendment & require that all National debt be paid in full by 31 December of the year in which it is accrued.
Third, I propose that all payroll taxes from this year and last year be refunded, in full (funded by the aforementioned land sale)
Fourth, I propose a radical reduction of the size & scope of the central government to an inflation adjusted equivalent of the 1900 budget. I recommend a strict application of the 9th & 10th Amendments, as a guideline to which bureaucracies to eradicate.
Any bureaucracy would have the option of going private, but it would have to be fully privatized without any special privilege, unlike the current USPS.
Any public sector union objecting to force reductions would be given the option to serve as a subcontractor, providing their membership as contractors; but would be on their own for benefits, etc. & would have to accept the budget “, take it or leave it.
