A short thread on @WeWork & their behaviour towards staff, contractors & businesses during #COVID & the @GOVUK lockdown.

I hope this helps any business currently struggling & not getting the help they need from @WeWork.

Feel free to DM me if you need help.
The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020 state:

“During the emergency period, no person may leave the place where they are living without reasonable excuse.”

If you breach these regs it's a criminal offence.
@WeWork claim that:

“Only specified businesses and venues (e.g. pubs, cinemas and theatres) have been ordered to close - WeWork does not fall under any of these specified categories and can therefore remain open.”

Quite simply this is wrong!
@WeWork also claim:

“Our locations are still open & available for member use, we have a lot of members supporting the crisis & access to our buildings is critical.”

They refuse to disclose how many members still operate out of buildings. In most cases it will be none.
@WeWork have taken a commercial decision to ignore the regs & keep the offices open so that they can continue to argue is it business as usual.

When they say offices are available for member use are they encouraging members to commit a criminal offence & leave their homes?
By keeping buildings open @WeWork employees & contractors are being required to clean & maintain empty buildings. They're having to use public transport, putting not only their own lives at risk but key workers such as #NHSheroes they come into contact with each day.
I have spoken with many @WeWork businesses who are at their wits end. @WeWork have simply ignored them. In times of crisis you see a company’s true values. Where is this “community” that @WeWork talk so much about in their marketing materials?
So @WeWork pretend it’s business as normal. They pump out quizzes, motivational statements & memes into a community board at a rate never seen before, in part to bury dissenting posts. It is no more effective than shuffling deckchairs on the Titanic.
For members seeking help on claiming the £10,000 SBRR @GOVUK grant, @WeWork have simply passed the buck & said get on with it yourself.

@WeWork need to start answering emails, start helping their customers, start acting like the responsible community they claim to be.
@WeWork will end up winning the immediate battle by blindly enforcing all fees during this #COVID19 crisis, but end up losing the war by killing the very customers it relies on for its existence. That will be the @WeWork #COVID19 legacy.
