Due to both the current restrictions on movement and my need to get back into lichens (again), this morning was spent trying to find and identify as many species as possible in my garden. This thread will include photos of all the spp. I was able to find, but not all identified.
Starting off with ones I'm fairly sure I know, the photo in the first tweet is of Aspicilia contorta, while the two photos below show Physcia tenella (infected with what I believe to be Marchandiomyces aurantiacus) and Evernia prunastri. As always, happy to be corrected!
Sticking with foliose lichens, I think the first of these 4 photos shows Hypotrachyna revoluta, the second Parmelia sulcata, the third perhaps Flavoparmelia caperata and the fourth might be Ramalina farinacea.
This photo shows Xanthoria parietina on the left (with a lobe of Physcia tenella), and a tiny lichen or fungus on the twig to the right, probably quite a challenge to ID!
These three photos all show Caloplaca, with possibly two species involved. The first two photos seem to resemble C. dalmatica due to colouration of the thallus and the more developed apothecia are convex. Meanwhile, the third photo might show C. holocarpa agg. - C. oasis?
Similarly, this might show another Caloplaca, but I think it's more likely to be Protoblastenia rupestris.
This Arthonia was found on the smooth bark of a goat willow - Arthonia radiata would be the safer suggestion but given the habitat, maybe the rarer A. ilicina would be a possibility.
On the same tree were quite a few lecanorine lichens. This first one had very small apothecia which I didn't even notice until I looked at the photo on my laptop. The second one had a colour I haven't seen in Lecanora before: very dull brownish apothecia, w/out prominent margins.
There were two other Lecanora species on the same branch: what I believe to be Lecanora chlarotera and a different species with very dark apothecia. The margins of the latter don't appear to be white or prominent enough for L. argentata, but I may be wrong.
Finally, these ones are simply captioned 'unknown' on my computer: two on goat willow (one on much older and rogher bark) and two on the patio slabs. I think the last one is a Verrucaria, maybe viridula or nigrescens, but the other with dark apothecia is puzzling me.
