#ThankYouJeremyCorbyn Thread 1/8
As a party member I joined Labour because I shared the values of Jeremy Corbyn. I wanted to see a fairer society based on inclusion over division. I believe in our communities above the individual and I believe in our public services being...
2/8 owned for all of our needs, with those earning more supporting those less able. With this pandemic it is clear for all to see low income does not, and should never mean low value. Hedge fund managers won't get us through this crisis...our carers , cleaners, shop workers,
3/8 delivery drivers, key workers in many public services such as schools and NHS gems will. They are going the extra marathon, not the extra mile. Jeremy stands up for them all....he always has and he always will. He will no longer be our party leader from tomorrow, but he
4/8 will always campaign for his values to become policies. I hope without the restraints of leadership he may feel more free to be more outspoken.
I was raised by an Irish immigrant father who was the union rep for his post office depot, and my mum felt she owed her vote to the
5/8 Tories because she got to buy our council house. She's had a reawakening since 2017! My values were reflected in Benn, Skinner and Corbyn....they to me are giants of the left. My dad admired them all. I studied politics under the Blair years and went into teaching. I was very
6/8 vocal in my union and voted Labour. I didn't agree with everything for sure, but Sure Start and the NI peace process stand out for me ...and many children were lifted from poverty. I want to unite behind our next leader from tomorrow, to always remember our fight goes to the
7/8 Tories, not amongst ourselves. I want our next leader to see the way Corbyn changed our party back to core socialist values and galvanised the membership. I stood for council because I shared Corbyn's values and vision. I hope our next leader inspires many more to stand for
8/8 office at every level. I will be forever grateful to Jeremy, so I say a heartfelt thank you to him @jeremycorbyn for fighting for real change, for wanting to leave no one behind and for being a personal inspiration to me. We will hear you from the backbenches, always! ❤️🌹❤️
