Fascists keep bringing up this tweet a way to "expose" me and shut me up when I call them out because they lack the capacity to defend their fascism so they resort to using ancient tweets to shut people up. So here's the explanation in regards to this screenshot once and for all:
This tweet is from a year ago. This was a reaction to Bassil and Aoun's blatant sectarianism to refusing to sign the khedme madanye because there was no Christian/ Muslim equality 50/50. Hence when I mentioned that Christians are 30% of the country.
It was also a reaction to Bassil's continued sectarianism against other sects guised under protecting the Christians of Lebanon. Tensions were high because of Bassil's sectarianism which did nothing but antagonize other sects.
Of course, our dear fascist friend here read it as me wanting to strip christians of their rights when it was a reaction to Bassil's sectarianism. Regardless of the reason, there is no justification for my tweet.
This tweet was from a year ago. Back then I did believe that Christians were privileged and more financially well off. We in Lebanon are exposed to politics that have us thinking that our sect is the most oppressed. Of course that was not only wrong but an extremely sectarian-
narrative of me and was based on lack of info and lack of views. I have since then been exposed to more point of views and narratives and have since then grown and changed mindsets. I've seen that Christians can be just as poor, just as oppressed and just as under privileged-
as all other sects and there is not privileged sect and we're all in this shit together. I constantly try to correct myself when I find myself thinking in a sectarian way. I apologized for that tweet and apologize again for it. It was tweeted out of anger and stupidity.
They somehow managed to screenshot it in those few minutes it was up for, to constantly use it when someone calls them out on their fascism. The question that should be asked now is why can't they defend themselves and their fascists beliefs without bringing up ancient tweets-
that don't represent a person's point of view anymore? Because their politics and their beliefs has always been about dealing in bad faith. I changed and grew and I'm constantly working on improving my mindset.
What's their excuse for their continued sectarianism and fascism?
