so ive seen a lot of rumours about high restriction so i decided to clear the air as i’ve never done anything but high restrict so i feel like i know about it quite well lol
first of all: yes you can lose weight whilst high restricting. as long as you eat below maintenance you will lose weight!! if you are transitioning from low to high you’re going to gain a little within the first week or two as your body has to readjust but this is only temporary!
don’t @ me saying that it just doesnt work for you. it does work you just gave up after 3 days :/
there are many pros to high restriction, for example it speeds up your metabolism so you can actually lose weight faster whilst eating more (crazy i know) and you’ll feel happier and healthier and won’t get as dizzy etc
another false rumour that ive read is that you cant reach an underweight bmi whilst high restricting. this is totally wrong and you definitely can (i know from personal experience).
another pro is that if you binge or over eat it wont have as big of an effect on you / you wont gain much or any weight. for example if you eat 400cals/day and then binge on 1000cals, you’re going to gain weight as it’s a drastic difference
however if you eat 1200cals/day and binge on 1000cals, you’re not going to gain as much weight because your body is used to eating more
essentially high restriction is much healthier for you AND you can lose weight faster. what more could u want 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
bc a lot of people are taking it the wrong way - i meant 1000 extra cals when u binge not just eating 1000 cals . and it’s not permanent weight
