Some interesting points on Singapore’s LHL speech:

1. Multilingual and gentle - he is using the same abah image (in Mandarin, he even made quips, smiled) without the condescension and stupid examples.

2. Smart and precise word selection used in the speech to reduce panic.

He didn’t announce the closure of schools and daycare. He used the words “home-based learning”.

The measures listed is basically a controlled movement order without using big scary words.

He used Malay and mentioned Mufti to appease and ease the Malays and Muslims.

The government is transparent. Concise.

Ministers came on for a press con right after the PM to list down measures relevant to their specific Ministries.

Everything is done in a CALM and structured manner.
