Spoke to a leaver today.

Blames science for mishandling of Covid-19 epidemic. Refused to accept anything I said (that gov relied on a single team of modelers ignoring scientific consensus, WHO, all previous historic strategies for dealing with pandemics: test+isolate)
When I said schools should have been shut weeks before he said "It's about doing things at the right time" - verbatim Johnson's claims. Swallowed gov propaganda hook line and sinker.
I pointed out that Gov ignored scientific consensus - all other scientists. He refused to accept this.

It looks like the strategy of blaming others is working on conservative leave voters even when their own papers turn against the government (e.g. telegraph yesterday).
He then went on to blame "useless universities" for not having capacity to test but not being used.

I said the gov centralised all testing in one lab and 44+ labs are available for testing but unused.

He said the universities should have come forward to offer their services.
So here we see another Vote Leave administration trope: it's higher education's fault. The culture war continues mid-pandemic and the right continue to double down.
