1. Happy to see @MattHancock sufficiently recovered to hold yesterday’s #COVIDー19 press conference. But I’m concerned he might have pulled a ‘choir’.
3. @MattHancock’s early appearance has puzzled many people. https://twitter.com/jimmfelton/status/1245750767660785664
4. And in response, the Department of Health has said (BTW let’s ignore the fact @MattHancock hasn’t just had symptoms, he’s tested positive for #coronavirus): https://twitter.com/dhscgovuk/status/1245799785942188035
5. Since the Department of Health is active on Twitter, I’ve asked to see the evidence on which the CMO has based his advice. And provided just one of many pieces of evidence that suggests his advice is wrong. https://twitter.com/adamhamdy/status/1245979499159789568
6. Authorities in China realised recovered patients posed an infection risk. They acted early in their epidemic and implemented a 14-day quarantine after two negative tests. Recovered cases were not just allowed to mingle or give press conferences.
7. Just as with its daft advice over Cheltenham, it seems the government is intent on ignoring international best practice & making things up on the fly. https://twitter.com/adamhamdy/status/1245777129289273349
8. I would encourage all journalists ( @Peston @samblanchard9 @bbclaurak @piersmorgan @richardhorton1) covering this important public health emergency to ask to see the evidence.
9. When the CMO says things that are at odds with @WHO advice or general best practice, don’t give him a pass because of the letters after his name.
10. Let’s not forget ‘the science’ told us outdoors magically neutralises the virus and mass events presented no risk. Our officials have gotten away with spouting a lot of guesses and dressing them up as ‘the science’. https://twitter.com/adamhamdy/status/1245777131352870912
11. Actual science can be evidenced by real world data - & there’s plenty from China, Italy & the US. Not theoretical models or best guesses, actual data. We should demand to see the evidence on which the advice is being based.

Real world data? Evidence? That’s the science.
