I’ve had a few people reach out to me asking what mic I use - currently I have a Neumann TLM 103 and I love her, but she is very expensive. If you’re looking to get something a little more economical, I highly suggest the AKG C214. Had one for
years and she treated me very well. Definitely comparable to mics 2 or 3 times the cost. Before that I had a simple Apogee USB Mic. I still have her and bring her with me on my travels. My interface is a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. Nothing fancy. I have also used an Apogee Duet but
for some reason SHE’S been moody since I moved, and thus she sits. Very pretty, but not very useful at present. If this is stressing you out, I will make you feel better. I booked the voice of Barbie AND the FF7 Remake with my Apogee USB mic w/ no interface, in a badly
sound-dampened, not-even walk in closet. It’s a weird time, but this won’t last forever. You don’t need a $1,500 microphone or setup to book work. You need drive, heart, and skill. I’m like 80% feral at this point so you’ll probably be able to take me to church. I believe in you.
