Dear @ABC7NY, @ABC7NYNewsDesk, I’m inquiring as to what confirmation you did prior to posting this photo 1/ https://twitter.com/yashar/status/1245907325023432704
It seems to have originated here https://twitter.com/progressiveact/status/1245874480863416320?s=21
It was then posted to @ABC7NY’s Instagram account and picked up by a twitter account with more than half an million followers 4/
I’m not a detective by training, but the folks on that train are in heavy jackets and winter hats 5/
So I’m really curious if you just take pics from the internet, ascribe to them whatever the unverified user claims them to be and without any other verification, send them out. I’m happy to be proven wrong, but we need answers. 7/
We’re going through an unprecedented health crisis in the city right now and the absolute last thing we need is for our news providers to be feeding us false information. My DMs are open. I look forward to hearing from you, @ABC7NY, @ABC7NYNewsDesk Fin/
P.S. The “source” is dubious. I would not be surprised if this is a doctored photo. (h/t someone else who I would never subject to my mentions).
P.P.S. There have been numerous reports of empty subways. Here’s one that went viral https://twitter.com/michellcclark/status/1244622395920527361?s=21 https://twitter.com/michellcclark/status/1244622395920527361

I’m just asking questions of our news providers
