Class reductionism makes space for Third Positionism (fascism with economically progressive views).

You can’t neatly elide classism with other kinds of oppression or pretend those other oppressions are subordinate to classism.
This is why I’m so critical of class-reductionist leftists who are just as misogynistic, racist, ableism and otherwise bigoted as their rightist and centrist counterparts.
And I’ve seen a lot of class-centric leftists let truly despicable people off the hook because they somehow looked like working-class heroes, or exemplified ~~economic anxiety~~.
Or they’ll criticise some establishment organisation while simultaneously minimising the threat of right-wing groups.

Never mind that in many cases, the plutocrats are ALSO the right-wing extremists.
Case in point: Current Affairs’ founder wrote an article last year about the problems with the SPLC. Some of his criticisms were legit, but he let some rightists off the hook. I discussed that here: http://expectedly.org/blog/2020/03/this-article-on-the-southern-poverty-law-center-is-everything-thats-wrong-with-class-reductionist-leftism/
How does the SPLC get all that vitriol, while the Family Research Council are just ‘mainstream conservatives’ and the MRA/serial rapist Roosh V and his old site Return of Kings are just ‘a blogger and his friends’?
Roosh literally argued for the legalisation of rape. He sicced his followers on women who dared to oppose his planned rally a few years back. This isn’t just ‘some blogger’, dude.
And the evangelical right are dangerous. What’s the point in pooh-poohing the FRC’s inclusion on the Hate Map?
But that’s what class reductionism does! The only REAL enemies are Wall Street and ‘establishment’ politicians. Who cares about fundamentalists and MRAs, right?
When…that’s bullshit. What about Steve Bannon? Trump? Richard Spencer? The Mercers? Stephen Miller? All these people either come from money or are connected to people in elected office, or both.
