I& #39;ve been playing RE3 for 30 minutes and as a massive fan of the 1999 original, I absolutely hate it already.
So I& #39;ll respond here since I got a lot of replies asking why:
Original: Cutscene shows Jill loading up her handgun, getting ready to take to the streets. A cinematic plays showing the carnage and overwhelming strength of the zombie horde, setting tone. https://youtu.be/l2c_AvxgtNo ">https://youtu.be/l2c_Avxgt...

Following this, Jill logs in her diary the date and her survival. She meets Dario Rosso who breaks down and refuses to cooperated in a highly emotional manner, revealing that he lost his daughter and is unable to be consoled. The performance is GREAT. ">https://youtu.be/qnEmuhdVP...
Eventually after following a survivor through the zombie hordes, she reunites with her partner Brad, rescues him from a zombie, and he gives her an ominous warning. We haven& #39;t seen Nemesis outside of the opening cinematic at this point. ">https://youtu.be/qnEmuhdVP...
She makes it to the RPD and a wounded Brad shows up. He says her name, and before she can even speak, Nemesis appears out of thin air and murders him with a tentacle emerging from his palm, before he comes for you and the game gives you a choice. ">https://youtu.be/qnEmuhdVP...
The way the remake handles it? Jill has a dream about turning into a zombie, wakes up with an alarming call from Brad in which he says there& #39;s "no time to explain," then Nemesis BURSTS through the wall and tries to kill her, she escapes, he catches up, then makes it to the street
She reunites with Brad on the streets who& #39;s suddenly much more relaxed considering he called you in a panic all but 5 minutes ago. You see him for all of 2 minutes and this is how they wrote his death in the remake.
Zombies got him. Okay. ">https://youtu.be/4N1wh4Cdz...

The thing that killed it for me is meeting Dario Rosso. No mention of his dead daughter, no emotional, mournful tone. He just sounds cynical and irritated. And his performance is so fucking flat. ">https://youtu.be/4N1wh4Cdz...
