Nevada has made sacrifices for the rest of the country. @GovSisolak, @MayorSchieve, @DanielCoronaNV (and others, except inexplicably the Mayor of Las Vegas) imposed painful drastic cuts to the NV economy to stop the spread. But notably, our cuts didn’t just stop our spread 1/
We ARE the tourist hub of America, and frankly, the world. Shutting down gaming an hospitality stopped SO many infections from meeting in Vegas and spreading through a convention and then going to all four corners of the globe. 2/
And those orders were painful. Caesars has furloughed almost everyone. The smaller operators (i.e. Reno and Wendover) nearly all furloughed. We forced ourselves to stop taking your money so that you would leave and not get sick. 3/
And make no mistake; gaming is still the backbone of our economy. We’ve diversified pretty good. But, for us to decide, “No we need to close and not take your money so that you don’t get sick. Go Home.” That’s a huge act of sacrifice. Please don’t forget it. End/
