I deleted my earlier rant. Nobody told me to. But it brushed a line drawn in our ethics policy, which I follow out of respect for its authors despite my misgivings. Took me a long time to learn, but educated folk know what you mean and the rest refuse to learn. So why bother?

When somebody you care deeply about is hurting and scared, and you can’t even sit in the same room with them to provide comfort, you get angry with people who refuse to listen to reason and science and act in their own interests rather than making things better. I’m angry.
