Most things about DSA start to make sense when you analyze it as ~10 non-profits (the biggest locals and national) that are loosely affiliated with smaller groups outside of those metropoles.
I wish DSA could break out of the nonprofit trappings but staff, those big chapters, and the number of grad students (semi joking about the last one) will always be a massive institutional barrier to it becoming a mass org of our class.
Anyways this thread was inspired by someone tweeting that it& #39;s the primary job of DSA staff to support the NPC& #39;s decisions and that is just... Not true
Anyways that& #39;s why I& #39;ve largely left DSA. I really do hope it succeeds and I& #39;m happy to keep paying dues but i can& #39;t do the internal politics anymore.
