I was telling this for years
Though NHS is tax funded
It got its priorities wrong

It behaved like a beauty parlour which aimed at pleasing the patient and make him or her feel good rather than making him good

Hospitals should be like military training academy https://twitter.com/Jeggit/status/1245231281283178497
Hospitals should be like military training academy or athletics coaching where a person undergoes rigourous discipline to ensure he becomes good

Any military or sports academy which focuses not on making someone good, but only on him feeling good is disaster

So is NHS
NHS focused on informed consents
And
Everything to make patients feel good, gave importance to Detailed explanation, allowed home deliveries etc

See where they have ended

If you waste resources for all such stuffs

You won't have money to make someone breathe
Basically
Hospitals are not like hotels or malls

They are like a fire brigade

These are all diametrically opposite to what you have been thinking

So
Don't get angry immediately

Read patiently
Think

The resources are finite and scarce
We need to ration out the resources
We can't spend for health more than
10 percent of what we earn
At family level
As well as national level

Private or govt funded does not matter

Whatever be it
If you don't trim your spendings
If you don't give away ego massage
