1/ I know I should not be, but I am astonished at how our media misleads with statistics and how stupid most progs are that they cannot see it. The person I'm talking to below is a prime example. But let me show you how these things are done--please read, it's important. https://twitter.com/CynicalPublius/status/1245901928346693632
2/ This article right here from the @washingtonpost is a prime example off many recent articles that claim disaster relief only goes to states that vote Republican. It's a lie, and I'll explain how.
3/ The article contrasts N95 masks distributed to Maine and Florida. It says Maine requested 500,000 masks and received only 25,558, while Florida got all the masks it requested--360,000. The author claims this shows favoritism for FL because #OrangeManBad, right?
4/ But let's dig deeper, shall we? Maine's population is 1,388,000, and Florida's population is 21,300,000. Maine requested 500,000 masks. Florida requested 360,000 masks.

See a problem here?
5/ Let's do a little more math.

For Maine, let's divide masks by population: 25,558/1,388,000=1.84%

Now Florida: 360,000/21,300,000=1.69%!!!!!
6/ In case you are a "progressive" and math is hard for you, let me explain: on a population-adjusted basis, Maine got MORE MASKS THAN FLORIDA!

Moreover, Maine asked for way more than was needed and Florida asked for what it needed.
7/ Now, realizing that statistics are being manipulated and misused by WaPo reporters to mislead, re-read the article.

Do you see how incredibly disingenuous and foul this sort of perfidy is?
8/ Here we are, in the midst of potentially the worst national crisis since WWII, and all the lying media can do is try to mislead its "progressive" acolytes for political advantage, sowing hate and mistrust between Americans where none need exist.
9/ These people are absolute scoundrels, as are the so-called "progressives" who lap up their lies like kittens to milk.

Please spread the word whenever you hear one of those bogus stories about Trump favoring red states.
