Hi! If you don't know me, I'm Daniah. I'm a biomedical sciences major at St. John's University! Two friends of mine (Rabab and Musfika) from two separate universities and I want to talk to you about a FREE mentoring program we plan to implement.

This mentoring program is available for both middle schoolers and high schoolers. IF you are going to be a part of this and you are in middle school, we do mentoring that regards the NYC high school application process, mainly the SHSAT. More info will be said later.

HIGH SCHOOL MENTORING
This is for NYC middle schoolers going into high school. As you know, NYC 8th graders choose to take the SHSAT to get into one of eight specialized high schools. However, this exam is extremely biased towards areas with schools with a lot of funding.

This may cause students, typically minorities, in areas with schools that get lower-funding to go into their local high school, many that don't plan to motivate their students. These middle schools typically don't give students resources for the SHSAT as well.

My friends and I want to help you through this. All of us are in this together and everyone deserves to go into a specialized high school. The test seems to be biased towards Asians and whites but it's because of schools that give them resources and parents.

COLLEGE MENTORING
This is for ANY college student planning on going to college in the U.S. The college application process isn't in favor of any minority and many people feel unmotivated because of the situation they're in to even GO to college.

There are also people with mental health issues which can impede on their ability to succeed in high school and go to their desired college. EVERYONE deserves to go to college and EVERYONE deserves to go to the college they want to.

My friends and I are providing assistance to help any of you who feel your situation isn't allowing you to do well in high school and, thus, applying to college. We'll help with SAT prep, college applications, and navigating high school in the BEST way possible.

Most of all, we want to be your friends. We don't want this to be some sort of teacher-student environment. We want you to feel comfortable to discuss anything with us. You can join anytime you like and we will never feel annoyed.
