***Fallen Order 6th Playthrough Thoughts Thread***

Let’s GET it. Grandmaster difficulty is definitely gonna make me frustrated, but hey, persistence reveals the path.
This opening will never NOT be dope.
It’s honestly so cool that Bracca is representative of the transition period b/w the Republic and the Empire since old Venator ships are being destroyed and repurposed for the Empire. Cal is picking at the bones of his old life too.
Honestly one of my favorite scenes especially with the music accompanying it. Love seeing a Lucrehulk and its apparent mythologization by Prauf.
I always found it funny that Cal calls himself “trash. Just not approved trash” because it’s a great joke! But then I realized, “What if that’s a coping mechanism for Cal to hide the fact that he wants to be viewed as a nobody?” Interesting but sad nonetheless.
It’s really cool how the two platforming sequences here, that being the jumping down to slide and the climbing up the rope, mirror/foreshadow two of the 2nd trip to Kashyyyk platforming sequences.
I love how this scene feels like textbook Hero’s Journey to me, mainly a mixture of “Refusal of the Call/Call to Adventure” since Cal doesn’t want to find his destiny and stay a scrapper worker, but then the Force puts him on his path anyway.
I also love that Prauf mythologizes the Jedi when he says,”Those Jedi. A real tragedy.” He’s one of the few people that see the downfall of the Jedi as tragic whereas the majority of the galaxy either didn’t care/had no idea about it or saw it as a benefit to the galaxy.
Prauf reinforces that perception by saying, “I’ve always said they all couldn’t be traitors” which, to me, shows Prauf saw the Jedi as a force (pun intended) for good and that the majority perception of them as evil and a nuisance on the galaxy isn’t necessarily true to him.
I also love when Prauf is freaking out about Cal using the Force and Cal is actively trying to get him to shut up so they both don’t get blasted. Prauf is honestly a great friend.
This scene also feels like the “Refusal of the Call” since Prauf and Cal are actively trying to not get caught by the Empire and Cal especially is trying to forget everything. I love the line of “Don’t mention it. I mean it” since it shows how serious Cal is about this situation.
Cal’s Force vision/re-awakening of the Force scene was SUPER weird (still is, but that’s why I love it 😍) but it’s incredibly dope. I love that his Master shows up and tells him the one lesson Cal needs to learn as a Jedi. It’s so similar to Rey’s Force reawakening.
I especially love how Cal’s Force echo is the part that triggers his reawakening in the vision since he starts to slowly revisit and “unlock” his history, per se, through his pyschometry. Definitely one of my favorite SW scenes.
Prauf sacrificing himself for Cal; you just GOTTA pour one out for the homeboy.
But honestly, I love how Cal is revealed to be a Jedi, as heartbreaking as it is. It’s so incredibly done. Well done, @MattMichnovetz and the other writers.
I love how this scene establishes the relationship b/w Cal and the crew; how Greez thinks Cal is a weirdo and how Cere is slowly becoming a mentor to Cal, all the while Cal is frazzled by all this, especially when he finds out that the entire Jedi Council is gone and that
he is truly the last hope for the Jedi at that point.

I also love this scene b/c of Cere’s Jedi reveal, which is dope!! I also love it because it sets up Cal’s arc that intertwined with everything else; his reconnection to the Force, more specifically, how it’s damaged and
if he tries to meditate and lets his guard down, he loses control, which I firstly thought would mean that he actually lashes out with the Force a la Force Unleashed and I’m thankful that’s not the case. To Cal, him losing control is reliving his trauma with his Master during
Order 66, which is incredibly heartbreaking. But it’s definitely cool that Cal, throughout his journey, is able to center himself many times to successfully meditate and reconnect.
The BD-1 introduction scene feels like it’s STRAIGHT out of Empire because it uses the same hook of “Looking for a Jedi? Well.. you sorta encounter one.” But this time, it’s a droid and it’s a wonderful friendship that BD and Cal create right off the bat.
I also love when Cal touches the fertile ground of Bogano since he hasn’t felt grass in over 5 years. It’s also cool to see Cal meditate and, when he exits meditation, to struggle with coming out of it as if he’d re-experienced his traumatic past.
In addition, I love how Bogano is the planet where Cal gets the “Call to Adventure” and the start of his Hero’s Journey.
Cal rediscovering Wall-Run is a quietly cool moment since he literally “taps” into the Force to rediscover a piece of himself, a piece of who he was as a Jedi, before the Purge.
I especially love Tapal’s line of “But with persistence and the Force as your ally, you will overcome any obstacle. You will master the path” because that’s what Cal does in his journey; through persistence and the Force, he overcomes the obstacles that obstruct his path.
The little scene where Cal talks with BD about how he had no purpose before this is a quietly good scene. It shows Cal’s maturity in realizing that being someone like Prauf is no way to live, especially for a Jedi. It’s also dope to see Cal slowly further his friendship with BD.
“For such a peaceful culture to have any sort of fascination with a place so... dark.”

Sage Kujet: Lol “peaceful”, I don’t know about that one, chief!!
When Cal learns Force push is also another great scene, especially with Tapal’s insights that Cal applies to his journey at many points throughout it.
Yeah, I just threw my controller at the couch about 3 times. Grandmaster difficulty is VERY frustrating.
I like this scene b/c Cal saying he’d rather not talk about his opening up with the Force shows, to me, that he is still closed off emotionally about further talking about his volatile Force connection but that he is also starting to become more confident in his abilities with
the Force to the point of arrogance which I think is accentuated especially with the 9th Sister fight. There might be more scenes showing his arrogance in his abilities. To me, that’s the start of him thinking he has his connection under control until Dathomir.
Holy fucking shit. I thought I was FUCKED when I missed the jump-down, but somehow recovered and defeated him on Grandmaster. I’m still in shock.
Forgot to add this bit. This was before I went to Zeffo, but I disarmed (literally) the Nydak, but getting the timing down was a pain, but once I got it, I legit did a fist-pump.
Messing around on Bogano right now before I go find Tarrful, and it’s got me thinking, game-wise;

It’d be cool to see more of Bogano if Respawn/LF were to revisit the planet in a sequel.

I think a big thing that could be improved in the sequel is the kind of
stuff/rewards you get from chests, like little things that could help you upgrade Cal/BD in small ways or enhance the world. Nothing’s coming to mind currently, but I think that’d be a big improvement for a sequel.
I like this scene before Cal’s trek into Kashyyyk b/c it shows his good heart in wanting to help the Wookiees and Partisans. It additionally shows his confident side in that he’s assured that he can jack an AT-AT b/c of his work as a scrapper on Bracca. Heck, Cal starts
to exude a more confident side of himself after Zeffo once he took down an AT-ST. It’s definitely accentuated when Greez starts fueling into his confidence by lifting him up/praising him after he took down the AT-ST, with his confidence carrying over to Kashyyyk.
Even the way Cal carries himself with his strut towards the Mantis door and his optimistic/adventurous tone of voice reinforces his confident side of “Yeah, I can definitely sabotage an Imperial walker, AND I’m a Jedi as well.”
Just a short gameplay video of me somehow taking down the Rabid Jotaz while on pretty low health. ‘Twas a shocking victory especially after getting killed by it a few times before.
Always love posting these Purge Trooper takedowns whenever I get the chance. It’s so satisfying to take them down, especially with my favorite finisher.
I don’t really think about this scene that much for whatever reason, but it’s quietly impactful. Firstly, it’s interesting that Trilla refers to herself in the third person as “Cere’s last apprentice” which shows an intentional disconnect b/w Trilla Suduri and the 2nd (1/7)
Sister b/c Trilla wants to let the past die, forget her life as a Jedi, and let the darkness consume her as a byproduct of her tragedy. Moreover, I love that Trilla uses her tragedy as an example to tell Cal why Cere will let him down, betray him, and make him lose faith in (2/7)
the mission and, possibly, turn to the Dark Side. But even despite Trilla’s manipulation, Cal exhibits confidence in saying that he can handle himself and won’t be manipulated by her. But b/c of how resentful she is for Cere’s betrayal, she repeatedly taunts Cal and (3/7)
attempts to break his spirit down by saying that Cere “harbors great darkness” and that it’s only a matter of time before she betrays him too, as Cere “betrayed” and sold out Trilla unknowningly leading her on the path of the Inquisitor, hoping to make Cal lose faith in his (4/7)
current mission. She twists the verbal knife when she mentions Jaro Tapal. She then begs the question of what Cal’s master would think of Cal going on a journey to rebuild the Order with a “betrayer”, a Jedi that used the Dark Side to save herself, but can’t escape from it. (5/7)
Moreover, Trilla points out that Cal is granting Cere access to a “legion of impressionable students” that could turn to the Dark Side if Cere were allow it to overtake her once again and utilize it to corrupt and turn the students, crafting them into Inquisitors (6/7)
Even despite Cal’s determination of making sure to prevent anyone from taking the Holocron and the children on it, Trilla says she had the same thought before/had the same naive optimism that Cal has which could lead to his self-downfall and the downfall of the Jedi (7/7).
Freaking Cere going “HaD yOUr dROid nOt iNterVenEd, I WoUld’vE kILleD yOu wIth EaSe.” Trilla, Let’s be real; I had you figured out like a math problem. She got maybe two good hits on me while I was destroying her.
Cal relearning Force pull is also a great scene b/c he relearns it under great duress, but he relearns an important lesson from it to help accentuate his reconnection; that the Force is within him and connects him to everything around him, even his weapon. But moreover, it
helps his reconnection process b/c it allows Cal to consciously remember that the Force is truly with him and that it connects him to everything, including his weapon. It also reminds Cal to trust in the Force by reaching out to it, knowing that the Force will connect with him.
Love this crazy dude on Ordo Eris. That’s all I really got. Would love to see some story on how he got put into the Ordo Eris prison and if he got out. It’d be a fun little story.
Cal “Hey, I recognize this band” Kestis. I stan a Jedi with TASTE. You love to see it ❤️❤️.
I love the tension in this scene b/c it comes at a time where Cal is unsure if he can trust/confide in both of his crewmates, especially Cere. It’s understandable why Cal is angry at Cere for not telling him the truth about Trilla, whose depection seems to be getting to Cal. This
shows how Cere wants to hold back and divert from telling Cal the truth about her appreciate before he presses her on about it, wanting to know the full story and feeling anger at not knowing the full story about Trilla beforehand via Cere, whom he needs to trust. This also
puts a rift in the relationship b/c it shows to Cal that if Cere can’t truthfully and fully tell him about her past apprentice, then can Cal really trust Cere? While it’s unlikely that their trust would be broken b/c of this, it’s still a seed Trilla planted in order to blossom
to drive a wedge between them. It’s also great how Greez defuses the tension b/w Cal and Cere by diverting their attention to Kashyyyk and how they both promise to discuss the issue of Trilla later b/c they need to focus on the current mission at hand.
I also love this scene because it shows that Greez has a heart and that he wants to make things right despite Cal being, rightfully, mad at him. I love when Cal says that the rift b/w him and Cere is none of Greez’s business, who retorts that it is his business b/c they’re in
this mission together, so they should look out for each other, which Cal reluctantly agrees with, even though he doesn’t want to. I love when Greez opens up and admits to his mistake, saying that he almost got Cal killed. It’s not surprising that Greez
thinks that Cal can’t make mistakes, not only b/c of Greez’s outsider perception of the Jedi and Cal’s , but also his perception of Cal as someone who, because he’s a Jedi and a good person, can’t make mistakes at all. Greez admitting that he cared about himself before
Cal and Cere came into his life is quietly impactful b/c it shows the positive impact that friends can have on someone, especially in a dark time in the galaxy where many people live via self-interest. It also shows Greez that living by and for himself was “easy money”
in life, but that it’s now completely different when living with other people. While being with a crew might be difficult at times for Greez due to his past, his journey with them brings him more self-satisfaction, with Greez being part of something bigger than himself.
YEAH, THAT’S RIGHT, MURDIE, GET FUCKED! The ability to fire a blaster is insignificant next to the power of the Force and Cal just exemplified that here.
Only reason I redid this thread MULTIPLE times was b/c Twitter doesn’t have an edit button and I accidentally deleted a part of the thread and didn’t connect it to my 6th playthrough thread, 😂😂
