I love data. I want it. This data in particular is desperately needed for medium-term planning (at home and work). But to be useful the data must be:

1) accurate
2) understandable (by me)

If the data can’t meet those marks, I’d rather it wasn’t out. https://twitter.com/globeandmail/status/1245874292765544448
To get ahead of the Federal Liberals and to build on the good press he’s been receiving, Doug Ford is going to have his Public Health officials dump a tonne of data on us tomorrow.

I don’t expect we’ll get much context or analysis to go with it. That’s dangerous.
If the data is bad, I mean really bad, what effect will that have on an already fragile population? Are we prepared for real hopelessness? Tell Canadians thousands more will die and we’ll be on lockdown until Thanksgiving and find out.
“We’re adults! Let us have the data and make up our own minds.”

Have you seen what some people have done with the simple request to stay home? We should at least entertain the idea that the populace won’t take this news well.
I know the press is screaming for this data; it’s their job to find out what the government is hiding and why. I just hope we’re ready to hear both at the same time. I’m going to bed worried.

Well, more worried.
