I should really be live tweeting this Ken Burns: The National Parks series. So good! #nationalparks #AmericasBestIdea
I will send out photo’s from my visits to our great national parks! Join me if you can!
Acadia National Park, Maine! Created in 1919 as the first National Park East of the Mississippi.
Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. Photo taken from the Skyline Drive, where anyone can see the world from atop the mountaintop.
The Moab Bridge on the outskirts of Arches National Park, Utah. The Colorado River flowing downstream to the Grand Canyon.
Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. No photo does this place justice. I firmly believe that of you look out onto this vast space and don’t feel God’s presence, you never will. Thank you, Stephen Mather and Teddy Roosevelt!
Zion National Park, Utah. Reddish sandstone Canyon walls carved by the Virgin River. I cannot wait to hike the slot canyons the next time I visit!
The beautiful Hoodoo’s of Bruce Canyon National Park! Such unique rock features found in only a few places around the world. Make sure to take the scenic highway 12 while visiting Utah.
Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument from highway 12. Utah is such a beautiful place.
Special shout out to our national forests! Canoeing and fishing throughout Sylvania Wilderness, MI was such a great memorial weekend trip.
I’ll end this thread with Theodore Roosevelt’s beautiful words while at the Grand Canyon and may it be a reminder for everyone to appreciate and enjoy our great National Parks.
‘Leave it as it is. You cannot improve on it. The ages have been at work on it, and man can only mar it. What you can do is to keep it for your children, your children’s children, and for all who come after you, as the one great sight which every American should see.’
