Some political thoughts:
Progressives must understand what is happening & why attacks on Bernie & his supporters are only intensifying despite pandemic. DNC understands going with Biden seriously risks Trump’s re-election, compounding national catastrophe. But they don’t care.1/6

DNC knows center-left coalition led by Bernie would unite party & defeat Trump. But defeating Bernie & working class movement is more important than beating Trump. DNC promised Warren influence but w/Biden & center-right govt she betrayed progressives for a bag of fool’s gold.2/6

Thus reach out to progressives is NOT goal. Win or lose in Nov, goal of corporatists is to retain control, render progressives beholden to them & rebuild party on “centrist” (Clinton) model drawing in moderate Dems & Never Trump Republicans, with whom they have tacit alliance.3/6

If Biden wins we may see prominent Repubs switch. Corporatists view Bernie’s movement not as an effort to reform party but as an attempted hostile takeover (corporate terminology). They have worked tirelessly with goal of ensuring it doesn’t succeed and never happens again. 4/6

Corporatists’ goal is major center-right realignment: post-Trump era isolation of nationalist far right & renewed marginalization of progressive left. What will be needed ultimately is emergence of true working class party. Reform of Dem Party for that purpose is not possible.5/6

Historic significance of Clinton’s malign influence and DNC/MSM’s coordinated assault on Bernie and progressive left in 2016 & again in 2020 cannot be overstated. It not only resulted in Trump catastrophe but now has potential to set back progressive politics for a generation.6/6
