Out for a walk, my wife & I stopped to admire the last violet rays of the sunset. And then we noticed that we were standing next to a mobile morgue, a refrigerator truck parked beside the local hospital. Chills ran through both of us. The street was deserted and the light fading.
This was life as it is and will be for many months to come. We were home and everything was familiar and yet it all seemed alien, abandoned not just by people but by any hint of what normal used to be.

And then we resumed our walk with the wind blowing in the blossoming trees.
