Our Rural Healthcare network in North East Texas was in critical trouble before this pandemic with the biggest portion of rural health facilities closing in Texas. It takes over an hour to get medical help in some areas. Pandemic put an even bigger strain on our system <thread>
We have stopped all elective and day surgeries in most of these facilities because of possible infections and to try to flatten the curve. Our doctors offices are closed but doing tele medicine for those really needing it.
They have reduced staff and the profits are dwindling while the beds are filling.

This will slowly kill more of our rural healthcare network, and makes it harder to get the help my constituents need. In rural America this is all to common.
We don't have the huge supply of protective gear that most bigger areas have because this is unheard of and as we said, for profits don't stock up on these things.
We have people funding healthcare with gofundme's for them and their small children, stretching out their insulin because they can't afford to get the next refill.
Our system is broken and Trump is doing everything possible to bankrupt as much as possible by making the states play "lord of the flies" with the fights over the purchase of supplies.
