Proud of my handiwork #notmychild
I wonder if in 60 years when I’m dead my nephew will remember the weeks he spent getting his hair styled by his aunt and watching dino cartoons on her work computer set up on a card table in her bedroom...
Good God I hope I’m dead in 60 years, I worked for 3 years in a nursing home and I have no desire to live beyond the age of 95 or whenever adult diapers become necessary.
BTW if you want to know more about adult diapers, if you’ve made it to a nursing home there’s a 50% chance you are in them and to change you they use a mechanical lift to hoist you in the air and it’s really not a pretty process.
This thread has taken a weird turn but I’ll continue on my tangent: since I was the activity coordinator I didn’t have to deal with the residents getting changed regularly, however one of my men would not let the nurses near him without me there to hold his hand so whenever he...
...was changed I would hold his hand and we would sing the Marine Corp Hymn together to distract him and keep him from yelling awful things at the nurses (everyone in my facility was retired military).
