My sister, who works at a hospital, tested positive for the coronavirus two weeks ago. She’s home now and recovering after spending much of last week hospitalized for what she called “the worst experience of my life.”
Now, she’s afraid to return to work. Her employer did not provide gloves and masks as she and her coworkers did intake in the emergency room, saying it would offend patients. Now, they’re telling her she likely won’t be paid for the time off.
I’ve given her a list of people to call who can help her understand her rights and what is being covered during these unprecedented times.

What about the folks who take the job’s response at face value? And a hospital, which is putting its workers at risk, no less.
