I'm thankful that @GovLarryHogan took the time to respond to Marylanders who are worried about paying bills, attending school, shopping for groceries, staying safe, and so much more. However, I'm disappointed that out of my 10 questions, the last and easiest one was chosen. 1/ https://twitter.com/govlarryhogan/status/1245828023535808512
Other Marylanders are likely frustrated as well as their difficult questions went unanswered too. We should appreciate how difficult Hogan’s job is. Nonetheless, he should be transparent with us and held accountable to answer our hardest questions. 2/ https://twitter.com/realryanwarren/status/1245525827783188481?s=21
For those reasons, I’m going to once again raise the voices of those who asked what seem to be the most important, consistently pressing, and widely shared questions that Marylanders have. 3/
@Not_your_pet pushed for trimming the essential business list so that more people will #StayAtHome. Although many people expressed the same sentiment, this question went unanswered. 4/ https://twitter.com/not_your_pet/status/1245525309962715137?s=21
@longtermloner pressed Hogan to answer whether or not he would suspend rent / mortgage payments, a question many MD residents are wondering and are very concerned about. This also went unanswered. 5/ https://twitter.com/longtermloner/status/1245658672618856452?s=21
@ACLU_MD asked Hogan to release people from jails & prisons to minimize the number of people infected both in detention and in society, a concern shared by public health experts at @JohnsHopkins. Again, no answer. 6/ https://twitter.com/aclu_md/status/1245752351568171008?s=21
@kieraraesmith wanted to know if K-12 schools are expected to reopen this year, and @gingernots wondered how the state of MD could help college students who are struggling during this crisis. Both of these went unanswered. 7/ https://twitter.com/kieraraesmith/status/1245530973325926400?s=20
There were other hard and popular questions, including where the tests are, how we will know who is sick, and what to expect for voting in MD this year. All of which went unanswered. 8/
The job of our governor must be incredibly difficult during this time. There is no way we can understand what he deals with on an everyday basis. Still, this does not excuse him from answering the hard questions that Marylanders ask. 9/
We thank you for some of your early actions, @GovLarryHogan, but we need transparency. @NYGovCuomo has consistently delivered the truth, no matter how hard it is for his constituents to hear. We expect the same from you. We deserve the same. /end
