Putting canon as king is why spoiler culture is what it is, because people value trivia over the actual experience.

It also leads to ignoring "filler" that might flesh out the characters because it doesn& #39;t add any new trivia to learn.

I honestly cannot say that any spoiler has had some tangible detrimental effect on something I experienced.

In some cases it just enhances it, in most cases, the actual context of the spoiler makes it far more compelling than the spoiler itself.
