For once, Stevie couldn't blame Lindsey, lol. It was the record company which insisted that the album was too long. Which was ludicrous. Mick then chose 'Silver Springs' to be left off the album and that was a sore spot for Stevie and he for years
Continuing on this thread(I love talking about Stevie Nicks, anytime) 13 or so years later Stevie was releasing her Greatest Hits record, and she wanted to include 'Silver Springs' on it since it had never had an official release
Except as the B-Side(Google it, kids) to the 'Go Your Own Way' single. Great idea, but then Stevie was told she had to get permission from Mick Fleetwood to do it.
I imagine Stevie must have been enraged. Why did she need Mick's permission to release a song that she had written and sung all by herself? But the song was Fleetwood Mac property. So she had to ask Mick, and he of course said no
