I really want for people who are champions of entrepreneurship and small business to stop being so tone deaf, and beyond that, gain a little deeper understanding of how an economy works beyond rise and grind 101. https://twitter.com/jamalhbryant/status/1245731863571894272
If you’re an entrepreneur, regardless of what your product or service is, your survival is unlikely without people who are W2 employees somewhere. They’re your customers, the point person with vendors and strategic partners, the mouthpiece for your brand (good or bad)
And they’re YOUR employees if you’re growing a scalable business. Ppl talk about entrepreneurship like it’s a great saving bastion for everyone, and it’s simply not. It’s vital and important, but it is not meant to be everyone’s journey at all. And framing it as such is dangerous
But most especially, it’s gross and ignorant to pit entrepreneurship against employment as some superior and enlightened path by comparison when one’s success depends on the other.
