something terrible happened on telegram in italy, im gonna explain it in english so that this news can spread and everyone can know how, in 2020, women are still disrespected. so that everyone can know the fight for feminism is not over

this news spread: there are secret chats on telegram where pictures, videos and numbers of women, especially underage girls, are being shared WITHOUT CONSENT.

some screenshots were published and the men in those chats sent messages saying:

"it's all i got"
"she's underage, she's in high school"
"she's such a b*tch"
"she's like 16, right?"
"she's a 2000 liner but the photo is from 3-4 years ago, she was 13. they'll arrest me"

for example, one of the chats is called "canile" which means "dog shelter" in english.
it got 2300 subscribers.
it's been active since 2016.
people can become part of this groupchat only if "invited".

• what do they share in the groupchat?

- pictures of underage girls and stolen videos of women where they wear their lingerie only, screenshots of their social media accounts, photos of women taken on public transports, in stores, on the street, without them knowing.

reminder: these women NEVER gave their consent for any of those things.

the men in those groupchats ask for each other's ex's number to "punish" them.
they look for videos of sexual abuses.

on the left | some of these groupchats, named with terrible adjectives used for women, "b*tches" / "h*es" and worse. don't wanna translate them.

on the right | a man shared a news:
«a girl was filmed in Rimini while being r*ped".»
and he commented: "when will we get the video?"

now something that honestly made me cry for how disgusting and terrifying it is.

since all of this spread these days, here's a man "justifying" himself and his disgusting friends.

i had goosebumps when i read the last sentence. disgusting and unacceptable.

• will the women have justice?

- posting and sharing those kind of pics without consent is actually illegal, virtual r4pe IS a crime, but there's no law against "revenge porn" in italy.

those men will face the consequences of their action (at least that's what law should have in store for them) since we're talking about pedo/pornographic content being shared. we're talking about types of stalking and persecution as well.

• why did i share this?

- we all have to open our eyes and realize feminism is deeply needed in times like these. feminism doesn't mean women have to be superior. feminism means equality, advocacy of women's rights and respect towards women. that's all we ask.
