Ok. So The Hobbit fan edit review:

This is what The Hobbit should have been. Now it is not perfect, but the editor did a damn good job and made these films as good as he could possibly make them. I really love these movies.

At no point was I taken out of it nor was it ever obvious that it was a fan edit. You could show this to someone who's never seen The Hobbit and besides the disclaimer and credit to the editor at the beginning and end, they wouldn't even realize they're watching a fan edit.
