In light of some things going around #RPG today, I had my own feelings to share. This isn't a subtweet, just how I feel about something.

When You Take Away Player Agency, It’s Not Being a Good DM — It’s Assault. https://link.medium.com/Y0jkeZyOm5
The fact that we don't like to use "serious" words when it comes to things like this is exactly when the TTRPG scene is like a whack a mole of sexual predators.

And it's interesting (shitty) to me that we only want to talk about this stuff AFTER it happens.
Then we throw up our hands and go "I can't believe this is happening!" when creepy shit happens at the table.

A lot of these types of people hide within that grey area of "An action but not an action."

I've dealt with that a LOT as a black man. Dealing with invisible abuse.
Also, I don't like how some people who disagree come in my mentions like I've never dealt with being a victim of assault.

There are reasons why I'm very passionate about these subjects.

I've been through shit and I'm determined that others DON'T have to.
And if we can't sit here and look at how someone else directing an avatar of YOURSELF, to do things you never asked, isn't assault, then we need to work some definitions.

That's my hill. This is my hill.
