Donald Trump isn't president to solve problems. He's president to dismantle the government and any means of helping people live longer, better lives.

Fighting a pandemic and saving people from agonizing, lonely deaths runs counter to his agenda.

Donald Trump uses every bit of his power to destroy the government and remove impediments to power and profit. To lift a finger to save a life, let along hundreds of thousands, would work completely against his worldview.

This government is meant to be incapable and destructive.

To even start the process of making the government work, to get his administration directed toward saving lives, Trump would have to first inject life and order into the government.

He wants to kill the government and remove any impediment to power and profit. That's it.

We are on our own.

Any actual response to the pandemic will come from the states or local/community organizing. The federal government has been rendered obsolete and incapable by design.

This is what Republicans have worked so hard for. The murder of organized government.

People have it all wrong.

Donald Trump has nothing to do with politics. His, like Putin and other authoritarians, is a post-political worldview that seeks to destroy politics as we know it.

This is about power. This is about profit.

That's it. A pandemic is just an accelerant.

Remember Puerto Rico.

The response to that disaster was tinged with prejudice and colonial spite, but any disaster, be it natural or man-made, an earthquake or hurricane or pandemic, would elicit this yawning malfeasance from Trump.

It's who he is. And people need to wake up.
