A lot of people have been hitting me up in my DMs before and after my pregnancy about my hair care routine! Needless to say it’s been a complete fucking journey especially after giving birth! SO HERES A THREAD!
After birth my hair took a turn for the worst. Everything you can think of went wrong! Shedding, falling out, hair texture changing and dryness!
Here’s what my hair looked like during pregnancy nice and full and shiny and moisturized
After giving birth I noticed my hair texture getting real funny some parts were curly some wavy and others straight! I didn’t have the issues with my hair coming out until Aria was 3 months old.
Here’s pics of what my hair looked like after washing my hair. This isn’t even the full amount I think when I took this pic Dárrin had already starting throwing it away lol! Again this is just a wash not it being combed or anything!
Thankfully I still had my edges they were looking a little shallow but still wasn’t bad!
This is my hair a few months after giving birth dry, brittle, lifeless and damn near straight this is my wash and go! I should’ve just washed and stopped!
At this point I was fed up! I was doing everything I could deep conditioning once a week, drinking hella water, hot oil treatments nothing worked and my hair steady fell out regardless of everything I did!
My twist outs looked like shit and was stressed with having a new baby and breastfeeding not going like it should I was super fucking stressed and depressed dealing with being a new mom and all here’s my twist out attempts YUCK!
I thought well maybe I should get some braids and give my hair a break maybe that’s what I need did I got my first weave style ever and that was maybe the worst idea as well!
I had the braids in my hair maybe two months and I took care of them moisturized daily oiled my scalp and weave 🤦🏽‍♀️ Lol, washed it kept it tied up at night in silk scarf and bonnet! And still when I took the braids out my hair was even more parched and brittle!
Finally in December when I went home and clogged my parents drain I decided to start getting more serious with my hair care routine like I used to before I had a baby.
I started back doing twists and braids myself! Washing and conditioning more and making my own hair care products! I barely buy store products I normally make my own when I have the time.
It’s been about three weeks since I started taking sea moss pills and doing rice water! I see a complete fucking difference! This was my hair after 2 weeks sea moss pills and 3 days rice water! A tremendous difference in hair shedding!
And this is two days ago after almost 3 weeks of sea moss pills and a week of rice water my hair is moisturized, shiny and no longer brittle!
I’ve made my own hair mask, deep conditioners, moisturizers you name it I make it all I mainly did it for my daughter since these hair companies dgaf about our hair really, nothing worked in her hair now I found out what works BEST for my family and I! And our hair is flourishing
The rice water I make is just 1/2 cup rice and about 30 oz of water with a few drops of peppermint oil or eucalyptus oil store in airtight container under kitchen sink for 24 hours. Then I transfer to a spray bottle and I sprayed my scalp mainly with it every day.
The hair moisturizer I made a got one aloe vera plant leaf and 4 ounces of water 15 drops of peppermint oil and 1 ounce of castor oil I blended that all up in a blender and put in a spray bottle and spray my hair with it daily or every other day.
My daughter and husband especially love the aloe vera moisturizer their hair is extremely soft and their curls are Poppin! On top of this being completely safe to use in my daughters hair it smells amazing and her little bald spot is growing in nicely!
