Today at the grocery store the man in front of me had all 3 of his cards declined. He was elderly, wearing a mask and in a rascal. The cashier asked “do you want us to hold it?” the man clearly dejected, said “uh no I guess I’ll come back when I have the money”. See comments..

Standing there with my son I couldn’t let that man leave without his groceries...my heart wouldn’t let it happen. I asked the cashier “how much is it?” He looked at me and said “$92”. I reached in my wallet and told the man “I’ll pay for it” . The look on the mans face...

...said it all. As I stood there using my card...He took his mask off and looked at me and said “thank you so much sir, thank you so much”. I turned and looked at him and said “no problem sir, just please go home be safe and stay inside”. Tears in his eyes, he was so relieved...

I write this because I think some of us need to see it. In times where selfishness has reared its ugly face, we still have to do what we can to help each other. I hope that man gets through this as I hope we all do. But we gotta look out for one another. Give when you can...

Take only what you need and look out for one another. I couldn’t imagine that man going home empty handed. Thank god I was there to help.
