Long story short this whole thing is teaching me that if the day ever comes when we become parents (hopefully by under favorable circumstances) we need to start having conversations with our children
Sharing this whole thing made me aware that I’m EXTREMELY privileged to have this kind of relationship with one of my parents. Support coming from parents really slaps different.
Please can we stop doing this ghetto thing of PrOtEcTiNg YoUnG eArS. START NORMALISING UNCOMFORTABLE CONVERSATIONS
In a lot of cases, children who were deprived turn into unruly adults because they were never allowed to make mistakes and learn from them while they could still be protected.
But also it’s not always necessary for a person to learn from their own mistakes, we can learn from teaching so let’s be the generation that leads by example
