Since a few of my mutuals were curious, here is a little thread on how I obtained most of the sakura DIY recipes in one day!

Disclaimer: not sure if this will help everyone, but it certainly helped me. This is just a way for me to inform anyone on how I managed to do it. :) So...sorry if it doesn't seem to work for you! >.<

Address the glitch first, which is part of the reason why I'm making this. I believe a few days ago, people on reddit started noticing a problem with balloons spawning; once you pop 300 balloons, they won't spawn anymore. Not everyone has the glitch, so keep that in mind.

If you've noticed, balloons will spawn on one side of the island during the day, and the other side when it is nighttime. Every island is different, I believe, but for reference, my island does right side spawning during the day, and left side in the night once it hits 6PM.

Important to note: the egg looking balloons do not give out the sakura DIYs, they only give out bunny day DIYs or sky eggs. So with the glitch not being patched up yet, I would advise to simply ignore them. They spawn more often than the regular ones as well, I get like 3/min.

Now for the regular balloons (red, blue, green, yellow), those spawn for me once every 10 minutes, with the minute ending in either 5 or 0. Example would be one spawning at 1:10, the next one at 1:20, etc

Sometimes they switch times, though I don't exactly know the circumstances, it does happen. Today my spawning jumped from 12:20 to 12:30, skipped 12:40, and spawned again on 12:45. Not really sure how that happens, unfortunately. ;;

another thing to note: DIYs are not limited to one color! I keep seeing this claim everywhere! No! That's not true!

I've gotten recipes for ALL of the colored balloons (red, blue, green, yellow)!

DIYs won't be given to you back to back, you just have to test your luck and see if you manage to snag one from the balloons, but it can happen! I got the clock and the pouch back to back, so be wary of that. Patience is key!

I forgot to mention! I did NOT time travel for this! lol I'm just stubborn and want all of the recipes ajsdfknj

Another thing: apparently Isabelle gives you one of the recipes? She gives out the outdoor picnic one?? I didn't get it from her smh, I got it from a balloon LOL how cruel

With this in mind this is how I did it: I actually had a meteor shower last night and I stood on the side where balloons spawn for me during the night (left side), and I was on one spot either making wishes or keeping an eye out for balloons.

I did ignore the egg balloons and kept an eye on the clock as well to keep up with the minutes. particularly watching when the end digit would land in 0 or 5, since it seemed to alternate, but was mostly ending in 0.

so I would stop from making wishes and check for the balloons on 9:10, then again on 9:20, etc. When I didn't see one for the next spawn (ex. 9:30) I would wait 5 more mins to see if it alternated to 9:35, of not, I waited until 9:40, and so on.

This way, I got most of the recipes in two hours!

Also important to note: not sure if this is true, but I've seen people claim that balloons won't spawn if you're waiting right along the beach/the edge of the island. I didn't particularly wait for them on the edge, but I was next to the sand, since both sides--

--of my island have beaches. I stood real close to hear the wind, which indicates that a balloon is nearby.

forgot to mention: it IS possible to get multiples! I've gotten 3 of the sakura umbrella DIYs yesterday lol. sooo if you do get an extra, it might be nice ti give it away to a friend or trade! :)

umm I think that's it! basically just hunt down the REGULAR balloons, spawning every ~10mins, and be patient! they will eventually get to you! Happy hunting!! any q's pls dm me or let me know and I'll be happy to answer them. :)

ah, as I just finished this, I actually got another DIY..., only one more... hhh....

Here’s my island for reference, and the area that I’m usually standing around to keep an eye on balloon spawning! Easy to listen for the wind. :)

I do believe the cherry blossoms only last 10 days, so with that in mind... let's go hunt them down cus I NEED...

extremely late my bad fkshdjdj but make sure there’s a spot where your present can land! if there isn’t, it’ll just shrink and disappear!! make sure it can land on the ground as well. I’ve had some accidentally fall in the river/disappear bc it landed on boulders.

plus something else I’ve noticed! egg balloons fly a bit faster than regular balloons. probably helpful cus you can kinda tell which they are from a distance (at least I can)...
