(Fun facts: A week ago tomorrow marked my 33rd anniversary with @TriCityNews and affiliated papers — I started on March 27/87, also a Friday. Also, back in February, I passed 19 years as editor of this fine publication.) #newspapers /3
We are not alone as a number of our Glacier colleagues have received layoff notices. We are heartbroken for these losses. And we’re certainly not alone in our region or our nation, where millions have been hit by the #COVID19 crisis. /4
Am I fine? I am not fine now — a little angry, a little sad — but I will be eventually. More importantly, I am safe and healthy, I will remain fed and housed, and I don’t have to worry about next month’s rent payment, which is more than I can say for so many fellow Canadians. /5
