On 15 March, @ScottMorrisonMP said the federal government would stop the cruise ships.

That did not happen.

4 days later the Ruby Princess arrived & disembarked 2700 passengers with no testing or quarantine.

Why were the rules different for the Ruby Princess?
Borders are a Commonwealth responsibility.

The Morrison government put one set of rules in place for the Diamond Princess passengers in Feb, and a different and more lax set of rules for the Ruby Princess in March.

It makes no sense. It’s a border security failure.
. @PeterDutton_MP can’t just blame the cruise ship operators.

The federal government sets border rules & enforces them.

We don’t ask airlines if people have contraband, incl fruit or other food. The ABF enforces the rules.

And so they should have with cruise ships.
When the PM told us that he’s going to stop the cruise ships — shouldn’t we have been able to take him at his word?

This Government likes to say they stopped the boats.

Except they didn’t stop the one that really mattered.

Now @PeterDutton_MP must explain why.
One more thing - @AusBorderForce Commissioner Michael Outram has previously directly contradicted @PeterDutton_MP’s claim today that the cruise ship operators might have “lied” to authorities:
