all i’m saying is... if i don’t get to do my leaving cert this year, i will actually go into a state or anxiety and spiral out of control. my entire future vision depends on me being in the UK come september. it’s literally everything i’ve ever worked for for the last 3 years

both of my parents are immunocompromised from being frontline health workers, and yet they still recognise the importance of the leaving cert happening this year

people fail to recognise that delaying the leaving cert to after the summer or using predicted grades will seriously impact people too

i guess the upshot of events is that there is no perfect way to manage this crisis. people are going to be upset with whatever result the SEC and Depmnt of Health put forward. however, i believe that having the leaving cert in june is the best option

the discourse amongst young people at the moment really terrifies me, because it shows that there is a huge disconnect between students and the way they learn. if online learning isn’t working for some people, find ways that do. trust me, there are always ways around problems

i myself have been helping people with revision and subject material that i’ve covered myself for the past three weeks. it’s working, and people are still learning.

ultimately, this is gonna be a really difficult period for senior cycle students. so instead of ripping into the government for the propositions they’ve put forward, help your friends with parts of the course they haven’t covered that you have

help your friends from schools that might not have as good a support system in place for their students as yours does, give them the questions that you’re getting, help them male study plans and timetables, make mini study groups

and for christ sake, UTILISE THIS TIME TO YOUR BENEFIT AND GET TO WORK. if the leaving cert goes ahead, you need to know the stuff. so get your heads down and for the love of god start working towards june

and i think as well people fail to realise how COVID has impacted students who do want this to go ahead. my mum is looking at moving out of the house and hasn’t hugged her children in weeks because of the work she does, my family ( a comparatively well off family) are struggling
