when you teach a child to sing and say and believe "i love jesus" before the child even knows what that means, you are destroying the ability for that person to enthusiastically consent to or choose a relationship with christ.

when the alternative to being in an intimate relationship with Jesus is eternal physical torture, love cannot possibly be part of the equation. there is no choice. it is spiritual rape.

I don't know what this means for my relationship to Jesus (as a person, idea, or teacher) going forward. But I can't move forward with this fucking religion until I name the reality of what I experienced in the name of Christianity. It was shit.
