For anyone in the same boat, here is My Pilgrimage to @SchittsCreek , A Tweeter Thread (in GIFS)
I hesitated to start watching Schitt’s Creek because I thought it was something completely different from what it actually is.
One evening, I very much needed a distraction, but I was sick of re-watching my old standbys.
I put Schitt’s Creek on just to have something playing in the background.
That was less than three months ago.
Since then I’ve watched the show in its entirety, um, *several* times.
I can't help it.
The love and support that every character shows EvErY oThEr ChArAcTeR is absolutely heartwarming!
Except Ronnie and Patrick, of course 😬
It’s the world we all dream of being a part of, because everyone fits in.
It shows us the kind of love we all need in our lives.
I know I’m not the only person that feels this way. Schitt’s Creek has brought so many of us together.
They’ve filled holes in our hearts. For one example,
and another,
and another,
and another,
and one more.
They've made us laugh. For one example,
and another,
and another,
and one more.
They've made us cry. For one example,
and another,
and another,
and one more.
They've made us brave.
They are the light at the end of the tunnel.
We can see bits of ourselves in every character. Like David completely shutting down:
Like Johnny, just wanted some structure in his life:
Moira, who is all of us right now:
Alexis, who is having none of your nonsense:
Ted, reminding us we need to respect our boundaries:
And Stevie! Stevie is life.
Patrick, giving us the confidence to take charge and put our little feet down:
And Jocelyn. Same, girl. Same.
Roland, who knows how to appreciate eating copious amounts of cheese:
Ronnie, completely done with everyone:
Twyla, just trying to live her best life. Spoiler, snowmobiles =/= happiness.
But mostly David. It was impossible to stick to just one David GIF.
Few more.
Still going.
OK, one more.
Oh, David.
And these days, when everything seems terrible, common ground is what we all need.
I know that you don’t follow me for my Schitt’s Creek tweets.
Pretty sure I lose followers every Tuesday because of my Schitt’s Creek tweets.
I don't care.

I created this account for a little freedom to be myself. It's something I've lost a lot of along the way.
All our choices make sense when we make them.
But now, years later, I’m completely lost and I don’t know how to get myself back.
I know, Schitt’s Creek is just a TV show.
I do know that. I'm not delusional.
But for the first time in a very, veeeeeeery long time, I am hopeful.
All because of a TV show.
Because that TV show has reminded me of so many good things, the kind of things I want in my life.
I want to be kind, and surround myself with other kind people.
I want to love with abandon, like a marshmallow that’s never been near a campfire.
I want to laugh for the sake of laughter.
I want to learn and grow and flourish.
I want to be life long friends with Dan Levy,
but again, I’m not delusional. Keeping my optimism in check on that one.
Moral of this thread?
Watch Schitt's Creek.
It will make your happy days happier,
and your bad days better,
and bring you joy on all the days in between.
They may not be making any new episodes, but Schitt’s Creek will never be over.
