#Day1 #autismawarenessmonth
Day 2 Autism Awareness Month
What can you do to help feel an auti at ease? But, like with every person; Ask what works best for them bc the probably have found their cheatcodes what works best!
Day 3 of autism awareness month

Bit of the history of autism! If you want to read more I can really recommend the book Neurotribes!

Although this pic ends at 2000, luckily studies still continue especially on women and autism!
Day 4 of Autism Awareness Month!
This is what (can) happens when an autistic person (it says child but this happens with adults as well) has a sensotory overload and shuts down. Its is a exhausting thing to experience and can also be scary. Ask (beforehand) what can help.
Day 5 Autism Awareness Month

Yesterday was a tweet about sensotory overload. What helps with an overload is stimming. It helps to focus on one of the senses to get calm and centered again (like with an anxiety attack). For me its touch; a strong hug/my teddybear or warmth.
Day 6 Autism Awareness Month

Posted this last year as well but its such an important thing that I want to share it again.
