Volcanoes can erupt when there are shifts in the Earth’s tectonic plates, causing the ejection of lava, ash, and gases. British Admiral Horatio Nelson described one of her eruptions as this: “the lava spreading from the top and rolling down the mountain in great streaks of fire.”
For today’s creative challenge, let’s get physical and be volcanoes!
First, start the magma rumbles:
lay on the ground and stretch your arms above your head, and shake your body back and forth.
then sit up and touch your toes.
First, start the magma rumbles:

Now, really warm up your volcano:
flip over and do 10 push-ups.

Let’s have our magma start to rise!
stand up and do 10 squats.
This volcano is getting ready to erupt!

Now, we must get our magma to the top:
do 15 jumping jacks
Now your eruption has gone wild!

Now your eruption has gone wild!
